NEXUS

Neural EXploration Unified System

Cislunar Domain Awareness

The volume between geostationary orbit and the Moon is roughly a thousand times the space we operate in today, and it is nearly unwatched. NEXUS builds the awareness layer for that domain: detection, tracking, and characterization fused by onboard AI and edge computing into real-time, decision-grade intelligence, sold as a data and analytics subscription rather than a hardware program.

Constanellis builds five programs from the ground outward: FORGE and NEXUS on the ground, HERMES and WIRES in orbit, ATLAS on the lunar surface. NEXUS is the ground stage of that sequence.

The operating picture

The volume NEXUS is built to watch.

Earth to the Moon, to scale in structure if not in distance: the regime beyond GEO where custody is thin and maneuvers go untracked. Drag to explore.

Interactive scene. Distances compressed for clarity; renders are renders.

The problem

You cannot defend a domain you cannot see.

Space surveillance was built for orbits close to Earth. Past GEO, coverage thins to almost nothing, while national-security interest in exactly that region grows every year. The gap is not one more telescope; it is the analytics layer that turns sparse, multi-source observations into custody, characterization, and warning.

The scale is on the record. The Space Force's Future Operating Environment 2040 puts the active satellite population near 60,000 by 2040, five times the roughly 12,000 flying today, and describes operations that run at machine speed. A population that size, spread across a volume today's catalogs were never built to cover, is not watched by adding analysts. It is watched by putting the processing at the edge and selling the answer.

Cislunar Domain Awareness

Detection, tracking, custody, and pattern-of-life analysis of objects from low Earth orbit through the cislunar volume: the vast, sparsely monitored region beyond geostationary orbit.

Onboard AI & Edge Computing

Processing where the data is collected. Onboard AI and edge computing turn raw observations into tracks and alerts in real time, so the picture an operator sees is current, not archival.

Analytics & Decision Support

Conjunction awareness, maneuver detection, and anomaly characterization delivered as products an operator or analyst can act on.

Data Products & Licensing

Subscription APIs and mission data bundles for national-security, civil, and allied customers, with tiered licensing and authenticated delivery.

The data pipeline

From photons to decision, sold as a subscription.

The cislunar volume is roughly a thousand times the regime today's space surveillance was built for, and most of it is unwatched. NEXUS decomposes the problem the way an intelligence system does: collect everything, fuse it, keep custody, deliver a picture an operator can act on.

01
[ COLLECT ]

Multi-Source Collection

Ground-based and space-based sensing of the cislunar volume, alongside partner and open sources. The network is also a sensor: EVERLIGHT link geometry and contact histories feed the same picture. No single phenomenology covers the volume, so the architecture assumes many.

02
[ FUSE ]

Fusion & Custody

AI-assisted multi-source fusion, running onboard at the edge as well as on the ground, built to hold custody through the regimes where legacy catalogs lose objects: transfer trajectories, halo orbits, lunar approach and departure. Custody through maneuver is the product, not an edge case.

03
[ CATALOG ]

The Cislunar Catalog

A maintained catalog of objects and events across the volume, with characterization and behavior over time, versioned and traceable the way the FORGE measurement corpus is. The catalog compounds: every observation makes the next answer better.

04
[ DELIVER ]

Decision-Grade Delivery

Subscriptions, feeds, and mission-tailored analytics for national security and civil customers, with the operator in the loop. Not a data dump: an answer, with the evidence behind it one click deep.

SENSOR MIX, REVISIT, AND CATALOG METRICS ARE STATED UNDER NDA. PIPELINE SHOWN IS THE DESIGN OF RECORD; THE MVP SCOPE BELOW IS WHAT SHIPS FIRST.

Our approach

Sell the answer, not the telescope.

NEXUS is a software and data business. It starts from sources that already exist, adds correlation and analytics that make them decision-grade, and delivers the result as a subscription a program office can buy this fiscal year. As the company's own sensors and missions come online, the data supply deepens and the products get better.

Security posture is engineered for government customers from the start, and deployment specifics are discussed under NDA rather than advertised.

Assumptions
  • MVP scope describes the first buyable service at the maturity the badge above states, not the full program.
  • Custody, revisit, and catalog size are functions of the contributing sensor network and are quoted against a customer's own object set rather than published as house figures.
  • Coverage focus states the volume the service is built for.

NEXUS in the architecture

Awareness is the product the rest of the company compounds.

NEXUS delivers awareness as a service the other programs both use and feed. Every mission consumes the picture and adds to it: sensors from FORGE, operations from HERMES, connectivity from EVERLIGHT.
