Chief Systems Engineer
Base salary range. Actual offer depends on experience and location. Equity and bonus are additional.
Every system we field shares one engineering standard, and you set it. You own the technical baseline and design discipline across the programs, from component qualification through operations, and you chair the boards where the hard calls get made. You will build the engineering organization you want to lead.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain system-level architecture across our platforms
- Chair the Engineering Review Board: requirements, CDRs, TRRs
- Establish design-to-cost, design-to-schedule, and reliability frameworks
- Interface with senior technical counterparts across customer programs
- Scale the engineering organization with discipline
Requirements
- 20+ years spacecraft systems engineering
- Chief Engineer or systems-engineering lead on at least one flown mission
- Deep spacecraft GNC, propulsion, power, and thermal experience
- Eligible for an active U.S. government clearance
What the first year looks like
- A requirements and review discipline that every program actually follows, not a binder nobody opens
- The technical baseline documented across all five programs, with owners and interfaces named
- First hardware qualification campaigns run to the standard you set
- Two or three senior engineering hires you recruited and would stake your name on
Nice to have, not required
- Startup or new-program stand-up experience, not only work inside established primes
- Optical payload or space domain awareness sensor background
- Prior interface with DoD or NASA technical authorities
