Grants & Proposals Writer
Base salary range. Actual offer depends on experience and location. Equity and bonus are additional.
The federal pipeline runs on written words that survive evaluation. You own SBIR/STTR responses, grant applications, and proposal volumes end to end: compliance matrices, technical narrative shaped with the engineers, and the discipline of never missing a deadline.
Responsibilities
- Write and manage SBIR/STTR, BAA, and grant responses end to end
- Build compliance matrices and manage color-team review cycles
- Translate engineering input into clear, compliant technical volumes
- Maintain the proposal calendar and reusable content library
Requirements
- 4+ years proposal or grant writing for federal customers
- SBIR/STTR experience strongly preferred
- Exceptional written English and ruthless deadline discipline
- No clearance required

- Engineers who hand you their ugliest draft and get back something they recognize and are proud of
Nice to have, not required
- Wins on DoD or NASA SBIR topics you can point to
- Shipley or equivalent proposal-process training
- Grant experience beyond SBIR: state programs, economic development, research grants
